Climate Reality Group is a non profit environmentalist organization founded by former US Vice President Al Gore in 2006 to combat the global climate crisis. With 127 chapters and 18000+ fellows worldwide, they work tirelessly to advocate for solutions for climate change. On January 9th, their San Fernando Valley Chapter is partnering with FABSCRAP and Circular Fashion LA to introduce the topic of textile recycling.
About FABSCRAP
Founded in 2016 by its CEO Jessica Schreiber, FABSCRAP was created as a solution for New York City's textile waste. Every year over 200,000 tons of textiles end up in the landfill. FABSCRAP works to repurpose old textiles into new materials. As of 2023, they have saved 1,352,904 lbs textiles from the landfill.
