HOW TO PATCH YOUR DENIM AT HOME WITH OUR UPCYCLED DIY DENIM REPAIR KIT

OH NO! Did you favorite denim garment just rip or tear?

Here are the steps you need to repair your denim.. all materials are provided in our DIY Denim Repair Kit:)

STEP 1: Make sure your denim and the torn area is clean for the best results.

STEP 2: Depending on your iron... make sure to put it on the right setting for your denim.

STEP 3: For the best results, iron the area of the denim that you will be placing your patch.

STEP 4: Find your preferred color of patch denim provided in the kit, line up the grain of the patch with the grain of the denim your repairing. Now, cut to shape of tear if needed leaving 1/2-1 inch extra material all around to secure it.

STEP 5: Turn your garment inside out and place the denim patch facing down to the torn area.

STEP 6: Now... Grab your interfacing material and cut to shape of denim patch and leave 1/2 inch allowance on the edges of the patch. ( IF THE DENIM IS THICK AND STURDY YOU CAN SKIP THIS STEP)

STEP 7: Than place the front of the denim patch facedown toward the tear on your denim. After place the rough side of the interfacing material onto the facedown patch, with the smoother side of the interfacing material facing upward to be ironed on. (DO NOT IRON THE ROUGH SIDE OF INTERFACING MATERIAL OR IT WILL STICK TO YOUR IRON.

STEP 8: Place the denim patch and the interfacing material facing down onto the torn area and iron for about 25-30 seconds.

STEP 9: Let it cool for one minute. If the edge of the patch can be lifted.. keep ironing until it is securely attached to your denim.

Now its time for the final steps in repairing your denim and bringing it back to life :)

STEP 10: Use the provided sewing materials in the kit to repair your denim patch by hand.

STEP 11: Using the provided needle and thread... Thread your needle and tie a few knots at the end to make it secure when sewing. Start on the inside and work the needle up and down through the denim. There are instructional videos below if you need further help on sewing by hand. Use the thimble provided if needed.

STEP 12: Once you are done stitching, make the last stitch and tie a knot on the inside to secure the patch to your denim.
