As young climate activists find their voice, let's remember the Fashion Industry's own UN Charter

Let's celebrate and acknowledge this significant moment in climate action by reminding ourselves of the 2018 Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. In it, 57 signatory brands, with 26 supporting organizations, committed to 16 goals to reduce fashion industry GHG emissions by 30% by 2030.

Objectives of the Charter - from United Nations Climate Change website, https://unfccc.int

"To identify ways in which the broader textile, clothing and fashion industry can move towards an holistic commitment to climate action... [It sets] the vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050." In addition to "a target of 30% GHG emission reductions by 2030" [the charter sets] "a commitment to analyze and set a decarbonization pathway for the fashion industry drawing on methodologies from the Science-Based Targets Initiative."
